Hampshire to host new cycling event

Olympic cycling champion Dani Rowe is supporting a new event at Thruxton in Hampshire this year with the launch of the Hendy Foundation Bike Ride.

Dani says the Hendy Foundation Bike Ride on Saturday July 23rd will offer the families and keen cyclists the perfect opportunity for a summer ride – away from the roads.

The day will offer a morning session for serious cyclists to ride the 2.4 mile track with the afternoon devoted to those looking for a more leisurely ride with family and friends.

And there will be plenty of activities off the bikes to keep everyone occupied and completion certificates for under 16s.

“It’s a great opportunity for serious cyclists to see how many laps they can cover and what a great chance for families to cycle in such a safe environment,” said Dani.

“This event will be a great way for families to introduce children to cycling and the ride will be a great chance for any budding Olympic cyclists to get up to speed.”

Entry fees are £15 per person with under 16s free of charge. All proceeds from the cycling will be donated to Hendy Foundation which supports charities across the south coast.

In addition to providing marshals and first aid support, Hendy Foundation will also have a repair company on hand for any emergencies on the day.
