New equine studio opens

Students at University Centre Sparsholt have celebrated the official opening of a new facility for Equine students.

The Sir Mark Todd Rider Performance Studio was recently officially opened by Double Olympic Gold medal winner, Sir Mark Todd CBE.

The official ceremony included a speech from Sparsholt Principal, Tim Jackson, before Sir Mark unveiled two commemorative plaques to mark the occasion and officially declared the brand new facilities and state-of-the-art Racewood simulator, Charisma, open for student use.

Named in honour of Sir Mark’s Olympic Gold medal-winning and much-loved competition horse, the simulator uses state-of-the-art motion control technology and is one of only two in UK universities and colleges. Charisma will give Sparsholt students the unrivalled opportunity to further expand their research in the growing field of rider performance.
