Opticians sponsor walk

A team of opticians from Specsavers in Romsey is to sponsor Romsey’s Walk the Test Way trek again this year and will be swapping their own work shoes for hiking boots on Sunday 14th October for a charity very close to their hearts.

Last year, the event raised an impressive £90,000 for 158 charities. Eight Specsavers colleagues plus one mum will be supporting their own chosen charity – The Gift of Sight Appeal – and hope to beat their 2017 £1,300 donation figure.

The Gift of Sight Appeal was established with the aim of funding world-class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness. The Gift of Sight research team is dedicated to furthering the understanding of the causes of blinding eye diseases and working towards potential treatments and therapies.

Store director Eve Robertson leads the team that includes her mum, Jen, and other colleagues at the branch - John, Dave, Jason, Tina, Sam, Leanne and Anna.
