Theatre classes return with sessions for all

Hanger Farm Community Theatre is once again welcoming new members to its classes as they return after an enforced year-long layoff.

The classes are open to everyone and are based at Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton, which is part of local learning disability charity Minstead Trust.

Designed to build confidence and grow skills, the practical and fun sessions are aimed at anyone looking to enjoy theatre-based activities in a friendly, supportive environment.

There are sessions for people with learning disabilities as well as adults and young people from the wider community. Groups are led by professional facilitators and will offer an excellent opportunity to learn performing skills and put on shows in Hanger Farm’s stunning 18th century wooden barn.

Jo Griffiths, Hanger Farm Community Theatre facilitator, said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone back. Creating and enjoying theatre has been very much missed by our team and we cannot wait to get back to helping people from all backgrounds build their confidence through theatre.”

The adult group will be running every Monday from 11.30am to 1pm. The youth theatre group is starting in September, every Tuesday from 6.30 to 8pm. Both sessions are £5.50 per-person, per-week.

The theatre classes for people with learning disabilities will run from 21st June every Monday from 1.15-2.45pm and every Wednesday from 11.30am to 1pm.
